Clocks: Time Management
Activities in every area of our lives are directly affected by our own personal time management. Unfortunately, since none of have all the time in the world, we have to be able to make appropriate decisions on how to manage our time so our lives stay in order. Since time management is such an enormous field, perhaps it would do some good to separate it into two convenient groups of micro and macro time management.
Micro time management could refer to anything you do on a relatively short scale, such as timing your exercise routines, planning meetings, or managing your errands during a day. Macro time management would include long-range planning, such as when to take vacation time or even how to space out investments. Obviously, there are no clear lines of division among these two categories, but there are ways you can help yourself manage both more efficiently.
Time Management Strategies
The most important thing you can do to make yourself more efficient in all areas of your life is to employ proper planning techniques, especially or macro time management. Be proactive and consciously set goals for yourself. If you take an active role, youll most likely find yourself more focused and able to enjoy yourself more once you have your priorities aligned.
In terms of micro management, there are many devices out there to help you pace your activities. Timers are available for any purpose imaginable, from stopwatches that can interface with your computer to compact digital timers that can help you pace your speeches or meetings. Whatever your activities, some active time management can make a huge difference in your levels of productivity and enjoyment in your life.
